Sprouted moth bean curry topped with spicy tarri, farsan, onion and lemon.
Misal Pav is a familiar breakfast built around sprouted moth bean curry topped with spicy tarri, farsan, onion and lemon. It is filling without feeling heavy and tastes best straight from the pan or steamer.
Follow along step-by-step.
Cook sprouted moth beans until tender but not mushy.
Prepare a dark onion-tomato masala with goda masala and chilli, then add the sprouts and simmer.
Make a thin spicy tarri by loosening a little masala with hot water and oil.
Serve the usal in bowls with tarri, farsan, onion, coriander and lemon, with pav on the side.
Keep the tarri separate so everyone can choose their own spice level. Nutrition values are approximate per serving.
